December Vixen of the Month

Vixen Charmaine Stephens aka Charonce (with an accent  like Beyonce!)

Lady Kori:  What work do you do?

Charoncé:  I'm a licensed esthetician, pampering women and men all day with spa treatments!

LK: How did you first discover pole dancing?

Charoncé:  I discovered pole dancing when my mother in-law told me about her friend's daughter who had started pole dancing in Nova Scotia.  There were videos of her on YouTube so I looked her to up and was amazed to see this shy girl climb a pole and perform gravity defying tricks!  I thought to myself: Why can't I do that? This was on a Sunday and by Monday I was registered for my first pole class!

LK: Do you have any previous dance, fitness or sports experience?

Charoncé:  I have  an extensive dance background. I trained in ballet, jazz and tap at Marie Ann Longlade School of Dance for most of my childhood.  I further pursued my passion for dance at Ryerson and graduated with a Bachelor of fine Arts degree.  Later on I was honoured to be chosen to be a part of the original cast of Lion King, Toronto.

LK: What made you feel pole dancing could be for you and decide to try it?

Charoncé:  I stopped dancing throughout my thirties due the many obstacles that life threw in my path.  I was turning 39 and felt I needed to have dance back in my life before turning the big 40 or I was going to self destruct.  When I discovered pole dancing and saw how it encompassed a tough workout hidden in sexy dance movements, I thought THIS IS FOR MEEEEEEEE!!!  I've been at it for over 2 years now and I can't get enough!

LK: How did you come to be a member at Brass Vixens?

Charoncé:  I was pole dancing at another studio for about a month before I started at Brass Vixens.  I wanted a studio that offered more classes per week in a professional environment and through Google search found Brass Vixens.  I was so impressed that there was an app I could use for buying my membership and registering for classes without having to go through a complicated email process.

LK: What were your first impressions?

Charoncé:  My first impressions were how friendly everyone was and how there was an effective class structure for beginners.  All the teachers were so confident, sexy, fierce and super friggin' strong!  ...and during most of my beginner classes they were playing Beyoncé!  Lets just say I was hooked!

LK: What keeps you committed to Brass Vixens and pole dancing?

Charoncé:  Brass Vixens has a supportive and family atmosphere which is hard to find in any other sport with lots of women! LOL! The combination of dance and strength training is another reason I'm committed to Brass Vixens.  The pole choreography classes and performance troupes.  The incorporation of traditional dance movements I grew up doing combined with the insanely creative pole dance moves has really brought the joy of dance back into my life and has kept me committed.  Also, it's the many other classes like chair dance, lyra, twerk, African dance and flexibility training that has kept me grounded at Brass Vixens.

LK: How do you feel pole dancing and the community differ from your previous dance experiences?

Charoncé:  The pole dance community is way more body positive towards all shapes and sizes than some other dance communities I've been a part of.  Whether you have curves or a sleek and slender frame, it's all celebrated and embraced.

LK: What do you feel is a crucial element for a successful class experience?

Charonce:  To have a successful class experience it's important to come with an open mind and put trust in the process and to remember that you will  progress at your own pace.  Most importantly.....have fun!

LK: What has been an exciting moment for you on your pole journey?

Charonce:  There have been many exciting moments on my pole journey but if I had to choose one, it would be competing in my first pole competition in Chicago at the age of 41!

LK: Do you have any pole goals?

Charoncé:  I have many pole goals, like mastering all kinds of Ayeshas, mastering the art of dead lifting into various pole moves and continuing to create entertaining performances.

LK: How has pole dancing and taking classes at Brass Vixens effected the rest of your life and sense of self?

Charoncé:  Pole dancing classes have empowered me in ways I never thought possible!  Nailing certain tricks that I've been working on for months is such a confidence booster and it reminds me in my everyday life to believe in myself and never give up. Success is always just around the corner  ...could be way, way around the corner but none the less, it's there waiting for me to finish the process to get there.

LK: What has surprised you the most?

Charonce:  Every time I pole I'm always surprised I'm able to do half of the tricks and moves I can do.  It's amazing what your body can achieve with hard work.  I watch videos of myself and think, is that really me hanging upside down with one leg?!

LK: What are you favourite classes and why?

Charoncé:  My favourite classes are the choreographic ones like Pole Choreo and Chair Dance because I love losing myself in the music and the art of dance.

LK: What are your top 3 reasons to attend classes at Brass Vixens?

Charoncé:  I attend classes at Brass Vixens because of the dance based classes, the convenience of the studio locations on the subway lines and the opportunity to have a platform to perform for family and friends every other month!

LK: ...and finally, heels or no heels?!

Charoncé:  HEELS  ...Whenever you can  ...HEELS!!!!! LOL!

Thank you Charoncé for being such an awesome Vixen!

LK: What were your first impressions?

Mississauga Vixen of the Month Krysta

Vixen of the Month Krysta

Vanessa: What do you do besides pole dancing (profession, hobbies, interests etc.)?

Krysta: I am a French teacher and I’m in love with French cuisine and French literature. Other than pole dance I enjoy going mountain biking with my husband at Hilton Falls in Milton, such beautiful scenery and trails there.

Vanessa: When did you first discover or hear about pole dancing?

Krysta: I heard about pole dancing as a form of fitness at the Women’s’ Show in 2008; thought it was an interesting idea but I never actually went to try it out. Then a friend of mine showed me a YouTube video of Anastasia performing on Ukraine’s Got Talent and I thought to myself “Oh my Gosh, I have to try this!”

Vanessa: Do you have any previous dance or fitness background?

Krysta:  When I was younger I did gymnastics and later pursued classical dance- ballet, tap and jazz. Acro has always been my absolute favourite and that’s why I like pole dancing so much because it has a lot of acrobatics in it.

Vanessa: What surprised you most about pole dancing?

Krysta: I knew pole dancing would be hard so that wasn’t surprising. I was more surprised with how sweet and cool everyone at Brass Vixens is. It’s so inspiring and encouraging to dance in an environment where everyone is welcoming and respectful of one another.

Vanessa: What keeps you continuing to pole dance and attend classes at Brass Vixens?

Krysta: The atmosphere here, the staff and my fellow Vixens keep me continuing to pole dance and take classes here. Everyone always makes me feel welcome and I love that there’s always something new to learn, always an opportunity to learn and challenge myself.

Vanessa: Do you have any pole/aerial goals?

Krysta: I want to keep doing this for as long as I can. It’ll be nice to see myself in the advanced pole classes and one day instructing classes.

Vanessa: Do you have a favourite class and why?

Krysta: I love all the classes here but I must say that I love being in troupe.  I love learning the different choreography and I also love that I’ll have the chance to perform and show what I’ve learned and what I can do.

Vanessa: How has attending classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life and sense of self?

Krysta: Attending classes at Brass Vixens has made me feel a lot more solid in my sense of self. I am very proud of myself; nothing beats that feeling when you overcome a challenging move in pole. This experience has definitely made me more confident in my physical and mental abilities.

Vanessa: How do your friends and family feel about your pole dance passion?

Krysta: My family is aware of this new passion of mine and my friends think it’s the coolest thing ever.

Vanessa: Heels or no heels?

Krysta: Absolutely heels!

Vanessa: How would you feel about having a dance move named after you?

Krysta: I would love that! It would have to be something acrobatic like a forearm stand or hand stand

Vanessa: What are your top 3 reasons to recommend pole dancing and Brass Vixens?

Krysta: 1) I would recommend Brass Vixens because of the staff and because the atmosphere here is amazing 2) I would recommend pole dancing because it’s an awesome combination of dance and fitness 3) I would recommend pole dancing at Brass Vixens because here you can be sexy, work out and have fun!

Anna: I work as a property manager and enjoy cooking and travelling. My speciality is Ukrainian borsch and pierogis.

Anna: I heard about pole dancing in 2014 when I was living in London ON and I pole danced at Studio Chic. They actually recommended Brass Vixens when they heard I was moving to Toronto.

Anna: What surprised me about pole dancing was how much progress you can make in one class. I feel like I am progressing quite quickly which I find both exciting and motivating.

Vanessa: What keeps you continuing to pole dance and attend classes at Brass Vixens?

Anna: Seeing the progress class after class, the motivation from my fellow Vixens when I finally get a new move and I the way each instructor is able to make me feel confident and comfortable keeps me coming back for classes here.

Vanessa: Do you have any pole/aerial goals?

Anna: Eventually I would like to learn the techniques required to teach a fun and sexy pole choreo class

Vanessa: Do you have a favourite class and why?

Anna: Your Legs Wide Open class is one of my favourite classes because it really is helping me finally get closer to my splits and you have an awesome way of engaging with everyone in the class so much that we forget how uncomfortable some of those stretches can be.

Vanessa: How has attending classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life and sense of self

Anna: Brass Vixens has had a positive impact in my life. One instructor in particular, Miss Tia, really forced me out of my comfort zone and that has really helped me be more confident and willing to show off my sassy side both in and out of the studio.

Vanessa: How do friends and family feel about your pole dance passion?

Anna: At first my family and friends didn’t really like the fact that I was into pole dancing but now they are supportive and happy because I have finally found something that I like to do.

Anna: That would be awesome! It would definitely encourage me to try harder to get my friends into the studio to learn “The Anna”.

Vanessa: What are your top 3 reasons to recommend pole dancing and Brass Vixens?

Anna: (1) The positive vibes from my fellow Vixens and the Brass Vixens staff (2) The fact that I can go to any of the conveniently located studios (3) Such a large variety of classes that most other studios can offer (there’s chair dance, burlesque, twerk, barre, belly dance) really something for everyone.

October Vixen of the Month - Carina

Hello Carina!

Lady Kori:  What work do you do?

Carina:
I'm a physiotherapist. I work with hospital patients in a few different settings: cardiac surgery, cardiovascular ICU, thoracic surgery, and neurological rehabilitation.

LK: How did you first discover pole dancing?

Carina:
My best friend started taking classes back in 2007 and loved them- she couldn't stop talking about it! She took me for a semi-private lesson as a Christmas gift. I loved it too! The places I lived in between then and now didn't always have a studio close by, so I took classes here and there over the years. I've now been pole dancing consistently for about 2.5 years since I discovered Brass Vixens in Toronto :D

LK: Do you have any previous dance, fitness or sports experience?

Carina: I grew up trying many different sports until I fell in love with competitive swimming and soccer. Throughout my undergrad degree, I decided to try triathlons as well as group fitness classes like cardio kickboxing and boot camp. I actually became certified as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. I really enjoyed the team/group atmosphere for training. Post-undergrad, I traveled and moved around a lot so I mostly stuck with running, hiking, and boot camp style workouts that didn't require any equipment. I've always enjoyed being active and pushing myself to try new fitness pursuits - I love feeling my body getting stronger and fitter. I had no real dance experience prior to trying pole dancing, so that's an aspect of pole that I find to be quite challenging.

LK: What made you feel pole dancing could be for you and decide to try it?

Carina:
My best friend was a huge motivator for me to try pole dancing. She knew I was strong and fit and told me right away, "I know you can invert on your first try!" Her energy and enthusiasm won me over- I had no idea what to expect from pole before my first class so long ago. After learning a bit more about it, I absolutely loved the combination of strength, grace, flexibility, and control that pole athletes have when performing. I knew the dance portion of it would be hugely out of my comfort zone, so I thought, why not go for the challenge!? I also felt the amazing sense of community at pole studios and knew that this was something special <3

LK: How did you come to be a student at Brass Vixens?

Carina:
I moved to Toronto 3 years ago to start my Masters in Physical Therapy at U of T. I had previously been pole dancing at my friend's studio in Vaughan and was looking for a new pole home. When the Brass Vixens Yonge location opened up a 5 minute walk from my apartment, I couldn't be happier! I've been a Vixen ever since :)

LK: What were your first impressions?

Carina:
LOVE. Smiles. Open arms. So many welcoming and talented instructors! It's been incredible becoming a member of this amazing pole family.

LK: What keeps you committed to Brass Vixens and pole dancing?

Carina:
The insanely empowering feeling I get every time I pole dance with my Vixen family. I love it so much. I can come into class sometimes feeling like the ugliest and most unhappy person, but always leave feeling like a strong, powerful, beautiful goddess- ready to take over the world! I love how there are endless new challenges and moves to learn in pole. And everyone is so supportive and celebrates every success with you along the way.

LK: What do you feel is a crucial element for a successful class experience?

Carina:
Being patient with yourself and trying not to judge yourself. It's easy to compare to others and think they look sexier or more graceful than you. But if you let go of all of that and just have fun, feel the movement and the music, you'll have the time of your life and look super HOT while doing it ;)

LK: What has been an exciting moment for you on your pole journey?

Carina:
Performing at Verticalove this year with my sister, Christa. We trained hard for 3 months to choreograph and practice our routine, so it was an incredibly moving and pivotal experience to finally perform our creation in front of an amazing audience. It was also the biggest show either of us have ever performed at, so it was a huge accomplishment. Sharing that moment with my sister meant so much to me.

LK: Do you have any pole goals?

Carina:
AYESHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And handspring into it :) also to improvise a performance sometime- a huge challenge for me as I struggle with dancing in front of an audience and usually like to be super prepared!

LK: How has pole dancing and taking classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life and sense of self?

Carina:
Pole dancing has completely changed who I am and how I see myself. It's been a journey and transformation in every way- mentally, physically, and emotionally. It has helped me own my body, sensuality, and my "sexy side" and to be less afraid to show this side of myself to the world.

LK: What has surprised you the most?

Carina:
How supportive everyone is and how we celebrate our successes together. I was also surprised that at 5'11 I can still manage to walk in 7 inch heels :P

LK: What are your top 3 reasons to attend classes at Brass Vixens?

Carina:

1. Have fun

2. Get stronger

3. Be sexy ;)

Thank you for being a Vixen Carina!!

Vanessa: When did you first discover or hear about pole dancing?

Candy: I first discovered pole several years ago working in Oakville, a client owned a studio. But I never had the opportunity to go there. Vanessa: What surprised you most about pole dancing?

Candy: I was surprised how much strength it takes.

Vanessa: What keeps you continuing to pole dance and attend classes at Brass Vixens?

Candy: The welcoming and judgement free environment is a beautiful thing. I love my instructors and friends and I enjoy working on old and new goals. Oh Merciful Zues! I will be bendy one day!

Vanessa: Do you have any pole/aerial goals?

Candy: Yas! I want to do a Lyra solo and a burlesque performance with Brass Vixens and eventually at other venues and events.

Vanessa: Do you have a favourite class and why?

Candy: Lyra, Heartthrob, and Erotic Pole are my favourites because in each of these classes I get strong, I get creative and I get to let Candy Floss out to play!

Vanessa: How has attending classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life and sense of self?

Candy: I feel the classes have boosted my confidence, helped with my posture, and is helping to give me an outlet for my creative side.

Vanessa: How do your friends and family feel about your pole dance passion?

Candy: Mixed feelings throughout but everyone is happy that I am doing something I enjoy.

Vanessa: Heels or no heels?

Candy: Heels. How is that even a question? LOL

Vanessa: How would you feel about having a dance move named after you?

Candy: That would be fantabulous!  It would definitely need to be somewhat comical.

Vanessa: What are your top 3 reasons to recommend pole dancing and Brass Vixens?

Candy: 1) Great Atmosphere 2) Great Instructors and 3) Great Fun!  Come and play!!!

416 August Feature Vixen

Feature Vixen for August is Lubna

Hello Lubna!

Lady Kori: What work do you do?
Lubna: I am a special educator/teacher. I work with kids with special needs.

LK: How did you first discover pole dancing?
Lubna: I was still in Dubai when my friend suggested I try pole dancing.

LK: What made you feel it could be for you and decide to try it?
Lubna: Anything that has to do with dancing is for me... Or at least that's how I feel seeing as I love to dance!! I tried it the moment I got the chance.

LK: Do you have any previous dance or fitness background?
Lubna: Not really aside from belly dancing while growing up. I just love to dance and workout, to keep moving. I always like to try new styles of dance.

LK: What was your first pole dancing experience?

Lubna: I was in Dubai when I took the first pole dance class and as much as I loved it, it was so hard because I did not have the muscle strength for it at all. That class was pretty intense! I continued for a couple of classes afterwards but then stopped because I was moving to Canada.

Lubna at 20 weeks pregnant!

LK: How did you come to be a student at Brass Vixens?
Lubna: As soon as I was settled in after my move here I started looking for dance classes. It is a must for me to keep dancing and moving! I found the Brass Vixens Yonge Street studio close to where I am living. I thought I needed more muscles and strength before trying pole dancing again so I worked out for around 3 months at the gym and then enrolled at the studio!! Joining Brass Vixens was one of the best decisions I ever made!!

LK: What were your first impressions?
Lubna: I was honestly very happy! The classes were not as hard as I was expecting them to be from my previous experience and I loved the instructors and their style of teaching right away.

LK: What keeps you committed to Brass Vixens and pole dancing?
Lubna: The fun, the strength, the stress release, the fact that I am dancing and of course the new bruises (they make me feel like I'm progressing!!)

LK: Do you have a favourite class?
Lubna: That is a hard one as I love them all!! I've always been a person who likes to focus on proper technique so I do like hard work when it comes to classes. I love the Choreo and Flexy classes!

LK: What has been an exciting moment for you on your pole journey?
Lubna: Every step forward has been very exciting. Moving from one level to another and seeing my progress in dancing and strength. However, I must say the best moment so far is the fact that I was still able to invert while 20 weeks pregnant... but not anymore!

LK: Do you have any pole goals?
Lubna: Oooh, a lot of them now that I have taken things slower with the baby on board! My goal right now is to keep dancing as long and as much as I can. After I deliver, I look forward to getting to where I was before I got pregnant and moving forward from there.

LK: How has pole dancing and taking classes at Brass Vixens effected the rest of your life and sense of self?
Lubna: I used to be a shy person when it came to first meetings or gatherings but I guess my experience of Canada and taking classes at Brass Vixens changed that in me. It is a boost of energy and confidence! Along with taking my daily vitamins I go to pole classes and I am set for the rest of the day!!

LK: What has surprised you the most?
Lubna: My strength! I used to be so skinny and weak before I started working out at Brass Vixens. Now, even with the baby on board I feel like I am stronger than I have ever been. That and the fact I can actually walk in 8 inch heels!!

LK: What are your top 3 reasons to attend classes at Brass Vixens?
Lubna: I love the instructors! That is one of the main reasons I continue. They focus on technique and they give you individualized attention especially when it comes to form, which I find impressive and very important when dancing. I love the fact that each instructor has her/his own style so I can learn a lot from all of them. The atmosphere is very friendly and encouraging. There are so many different classes to try and new ones being added!! Last but not least, it so addictive that you don't feel like you want to stop! I've had days where I would take up to 3 or 4 classes and wonder how I could fit in a 5th!
Thank you Brass Vixens for this wonderful opportunity and life experience!
Lubna

Thank you Lubna for being a Vixen!!

905 Feature Vixen - August

Alexandra Bud - 905 Vixen Mississauga

Vanessa: What do you do when you besides pole dancing (profession, hobbies,
interests etc.)?

Alex: I am a Research Analyst who enjoys snowboarding, riding my motorcycle and
spending time with friends and family.

Vanessa: When did you first discover or hear about pole dancing?

Alex: I heard about pole dance in high school but never thought it would be
something I would be willing to try. A friend of mine who was already taking classes
at Brass Vixens invited me to the Mississauga Open House to try a few free classes.

Vanessa: Was the Mississauga Open House your first experience at Brass Vixens
and what was your first impression of our studio?

Alex: Yes, the Open House was my first experience at Brass Vixens. I had a great
first impression of the studio. The atmosphere in the studio and in the classes was
positive, encouraging and fun. I thought I would look stupid trying to dance sexy but
the instructors were supportive, patient and they really encouraged me to be myself,
enjoy the music and dance like no one else was watching.

Vanessa: When did you first discover or hear about pole dancing?

Alex: I heard about pole dance in high school but never thought it would be
something I would be willing to try. A friend of mine who was already taking classes
at Brass Vixens invited me to the Mississauga Open House to try a few free classes.

Vanessa: What inspired you to accept your friend’s invite to try a few classes at
Mississauga’s Open House?

Alex: I always wanted to try pole dancing and it was the perfect opportunity to
actually try a class. Being at the Open House I got to experience what pole dance and
erotic dance classes are all about. I took my first pole class with Miss Tia as well as
my first twerk class with Shani. I instantly fell in love with the community, the
atmosphere and the style of classes and I immediately signed up.

Vanessa: Do you have any previous dance or fitness background?

Alex: Although I don’t have a previous dance background, I have always been fairly
active participating in various fitness classes.

Vanessa: What surprised you most about pole dancing?

Alex: I was surprised at how much more comfortable I was becoming with my body. I
remember being very apprehensive when I was told that I could graduate from Pole
Beginner 1 to Pole Beginner 2. Even when I graduated to Pole Inversions I thought
that I could never climb all the way up the pole and do all those sits and spins. By
consistently attending classes and I am seeing the improvements week over week
which makes me realize how strong I am getting and how truly happy I am with all of
the progress I am making.

Vanessa: What keeps you continuing to pole dance and attend classes at Brass
Vixens?

Alex: I continue to pole dance because I can actually see the progress I am making
and I continue to attend classes at Brass Vixens because the classes are always fun.
I look forward to the fun I know I’ll have in class and I find myself always losing track
of time. Going to a regular gym can become very tedious, repetitive and it can get
boring after a while. But at Brass Vixens you’re always working on something new
and learning to move your body in so many different ways which ultimately makes
me feel more confident in my body.

Vanessa: Do you have any pole goals?

Alex: Of course! I want to continue to progress in Pole Inversions and be able to
confidently participate in spin pole classes. Ideally I’d like to become super awesome
at pole dance and be able to call myself a Pro Pole Dancer in less than three years ;)

Vanessa: Do you have a favourite class and why?

Alex: I love a lot of the classes here but if I had to choose one I’d say Erotic Chair
Dance because its fun, fast paced and very creative. The Erotic Chair Dance class
breaks me out of my shell and makes me feel sexier.

Vanessa: How has attending classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life and
sense of self?

Alex: Attending classes at Brass Vixens has made my days feel much longer and
more purposeful. I devote a lot of time in just my profession alone so its nice to have
something else to look forward to. I can honestly say that I has really made me enjoy
my life that much more :)

Vanessa: How do your friends and family feel about your pole dance passion?

Alex: My friends think its awesome that I do this and they are always encouraging me
to keep it up. I’m still trying to get them to come to Brass Vixens...maybe they’ll
accompany me to Brass Vixens Labour Day weekend festivities.

Vanessa: Heels or no heels?

Alex: Heels! Always!

Vanessa: How would you feel about having a dance move named after you?

Alex: That would be so freaking cool! Hopefully one day in the future I could have a
dance move named after me so that I could teach it to everyone.

Vanessa: What are your top 3 reasons to recommend pole dancing and Brass
Vixens?

Alex:
1. It’s a fun workout
2. Regardless of what studio I go to, the Vixens are outgoing and inclusive which
helps create such a positive and fun culture.
3. Pole is practical. With pole your using your own body weight to improve your
flexibility and strength…what other workout does that?!

July Vixen of the Month - Andrea Ferguson

Lady Kori: What is your profession? Andrea: By day and sometimes night I am a Medical Radiation Technologist. I work in the CT, interventional and mammography areas of diagnostics. LK: How long have you been pole dancing? A: I had my very first class in 2006 when there was no studio and only one portable pole that was brought into a women's only fitness studio at Yonge and Rosedale. I poled for 4 years and then had to take some time off due to injury. I recently have rediscovered pole and have been loving it even more for the last year and a half! L:  How addictive it is!  I find myself coming back for more despite the bruises and pain!

LK:  What was you first experience at Brass Vixens and your first impression?
L:  When I attended my first Pole Beginner One class I was overwhelmed by how confident and genuine everyone was!  It wasn't intimidating like I expected.  I think I smiled through the whole class and left feeling accomplished that I'd done body rolls/waves on a pole!

LK:  What keeps you continuing to pole dance and attend classes at Brass Vixens?
L:  I keep going back because there's just always room for improvement with pole dancing.  There's no such thing as an easy move, there's always something new to learn or ways to make it better.  Brass Vixens has so many different talented instructors that with each class I pick up something new.

LK:  Do you have any pole goals?
L:  Yes! The Ayesha!

LK:  Do you have a favourite class and why?
L:  I love all the classes but I'm obsessed with any choreo class; pole, chair, etc.  Every choreography feels like a mini performance and watching myself improve a little more each run through is so satisfying!

LK:  What are your top 3 reasons to recommend pole dancing and Brass Vixens?
L:  1. It's the perfect combination of strength and poise.  I recommend pole dancing because it's physically challenging and you'll feel sexy doing it.

2. The people!  You'll meet so many lovely dancers and the staff are so amazing and caring.  You'll only find encouragement and support here, it's such a wonderful community.

3. There are four studios and such a wide variety of classes!  I love exploring other classes like Lyra and Aerial.  Oh, and I looove Troupe, it's an awesome experience!

LK:  How has attending classes at Brass Vixens affected the rest of your life?
L:  I'm definitely more confident and it feels great to be so active.  I'm more in shape then I've ever been ...but I don't get to lotion as much!  The pros certainly outweigh the cons of dry skin though ;-)

LK:  How do your friends and family feel about it?
L:  My parents think it's awesome and are super impressed every time I show them new tricks!  I have friends coming to me asking about pole dancing and it's just incredible to know that I was an inspiration.

LK:  Heels or no heels?!
L:  HEELS!  Most absolutely, definitely heels!  They make everything look amazing!

LK:  How would you feel about having a dance move named after you?!!
L:  That would be so awesome!  I want to change my answer about pole goals to having a dance move named after me instead!

Thank you Lillian for being a vixen!  You rock!
